My research focus is on psychological and social aspects of living with chronic illness and disability. My PhD and postdoctoral research to date has focused primarily on psychosocial adjustment to lower limb amputation, including issues surrounding adaptation to changes in body image.
Reason for joining:
I would welcome the opportunity to meet others with an interest in appearance-related research, with the potential for collaborating on future funding/grant applications.
Current research interest in relation to the COST Action:
I am currently working on a research project to develop a self-management intervention for survivors of head and neck cancer, which will incorporate themes relating to changes in appearance that result from oral and maxillofacial surgery and their impact on body image and psychosocial well-being.
