Short autobiography:

Social Sciences, Associate professor at the Department for Applied Social Sciences. Her current research interest is in the field of migration, development, parenting and the influences of appearance on the process of acculturation during childhood and adolescence.

Reason for joining: I would like to learn more about methods of assessing the influences of appearance on the individual level in order to use this insight for future research on appearance and adjustment of migrant children and youth, particularly with regard to research on Roma children, who have migrated to Germany recently. In addition I would like to meet other researchers who work on similar or related fields.
Current research interest in relation to the COST Action: I am interested in investigating how appearance influences the (ethnic) identity of minority children and youth. It is obvious that the individual appearance has an important impact on migrant children and adolescentsí ethnic identity development and peer interaction.
