Name: Anne-Marie Callus
Country: Malta
Degrees: B.Ed (Hons) (Melit), M.Ed (Wales), Ph D (Leeds)
Current job title: Lecturer (Part-time)
Institution: University of Malta
Short autobiography:

I have been working in the disability sector for the past twenty years. Until recently, I was the Director of the National Commission Persons with Disability. I am now a part-time lecturer at the Disability Studies Unit within the Faculty for Social Wellbeing, University of Malta.

Reason for joining: Appearance is a very relevant issue for disabled people. Because disability can cause people to look different, they are easily marked as different by those they interact with. Moreover, disabled people often seek to conform to received ideas about being smart, presentable, even acceptable to gain acceptance in their community
Current research interest in relation to the COST Action: I am very much interested in researching the issues outlined above.
