Short autobiography:

My research interest lies in the area of body image, specifically body image in adolescents and children. Within this, I am interested in the role of sociocultural factors in the development of body image concerns. My current research focuses on the role of social networking sites (such as Facebook) on the body image of adolescent girls and boys. I also work in the area of sexualisation of girls, with a specific interest in the role of internet games, toys and products, and parenting factors on the development/internalisation of sexualisation messages and appearance concerns.

Reason for joining: To increase knowledge into European research being conducted in this area and to explore opportunities for collaborative research.
Current research interest in relation to the COST Action: Body image and appearance concerns in children and adolescents. The role of sociocultural factors.
