My research interests lie in health and rehabilitation psychology. I am co-director of the Dublin Psychoprosthetics Group, a unique multidisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians interested in applying many and varied aspects of psychology to prosthetic use, especially in regard to the rehabilitation of people with amputations.
Reason for joining:
To develop and explore opportunities for interdisciplinary research collaboration and the translation of research evidence into policy and practice.
Current research interest in relation to the COST Action:
a) Psychosocial aspects of visible difference/disfigurement (particularly in relation to limb loss and prosthetics) b) Self-management to improve outcomes in chronic conditions (including acquired physical disability)
