Current job title:
Clinical Psychologist, Neuropsychologist
CHRU de Lille
I worked for 6 years at various institutions (hospitals, associations) as a clinician psychologist with children and adults suffering from various diseases affecting their emotional and social life. Few months ago, I joined the neurosurgery department and the reference center for cranio-maxillo-facial complex malformations in the university hospital in Lille, France.
Currently, we question the current experiences of adults who had a surgery for craniosynostosis during childhood. We would like to study what they think of their appearance and in what context a negative evaluation of their appearance affects their life (emotional, social, affective) and their health. This study will allow us to combine the criteria for surgical evaluation with more subjective criteria from the patient felt to improve practices.
Reason for joining:
Bring experience and elements of the specific study population of patients with craniofacial malformation, as spokesperson from the reference center of Lille. Share data on a large cohort of patients with complex craniomaxillofacial deformties. Confronting my methods with various professionals. Improve my practice and learn from different experiences made by other professionals.
Current research interest in relation to the COST Action:
a) Long term outcome of patients operated for craniosynostosis during infancy
